Hi my name is Rainy. I came to live with my
mom in the fall of 2002. I was shipped down from Canada’s PMU farms. The
organization that saved me and lots of other baby horses is called Foal Quest.
My mom chose me and another baby – my brother Blue that year. I am glad she did
otherwise who knows where we would be. The whole load of us got very sick on
the trip down. Most of us had strangles when we got here, we were even
quarantined. Blue was the worst of the two of us. He already had the abscess
under the jaw. I got one a week later. Mom quickly got us looked at and taken
care of. She had to give me antibiotic shots twice a day for 2 weeks straight. A
nice vet by the name of Dr Dorian volunteered his help with all of us to get us
through the worst of it. He has been our vet ever since and Blue and I love him,
he is very kind and gentle. I was so sick I just let Mom help me however she had
to. She took real good care of me. Blue was a lot worse and he almost died.
Thank goodness mom has a lot of medical knowledge and she pulled him through
too. I would have been really sad if I lost my brother. Mom also helped a lot of
the sick babies the other owners couldn’t treat or didn’t have a new family yet.
She is really a good person and she took great care of all of us and we got
through all the sickness and shots and cleaning of wounds. I am very glad she
chose me and loves me so much. I know I am very nervous and scared a lot, but
Mom is always there to help me see everything is ok and I don’t have to be so
scared all the time. She taught me everything I know and I love her very much!
I love going out on trail rides and playing in the ocean at the beach.
