Hi my name is Blue. I came to live with my Mom in the fall of 2002.  I came down from Canada on a trailer with about 50-75 other 3 month old horses. We were rescued from the PMU farms by an organization called Foal Quest. They find homes for the babies produced by these farms that were formally being sold to slaughter houses.  Thank goodness Mom got involved with this organization the year before. That’s how she got Sugar – my big sister. My Mom had adopted 2 of us on that shipment, my sister Rainy and another little filly. She was a tiny bay filly Mom had adopted for Eddie. She was so small, Mom was afraid the little filly would not be big enough for Eddie. So she found a lady that wanted a filly for her granddaughter. Mom sold her to that lady – a good home for her. Mom still took care of the bay filly until she got better for the lady.  Then she told Eddie to pick from the few of us who came down that did not have families yet. Well, I saw that little boy hanging on the fence checking us out and I thought he was a pretty special. So I walked right up to him and bumped him with my nose. He giggled and got down and walked along the fence and I followed him the whole way. Something about that little boy connected with me and we have been best friends ever since! Mom says we were meant for each other and I guess she was right. Eddie helped Mom take care of me when I was so sick and loved me and kept me company and fed me. He even taught me how behave with a rider and showed me how to be a good horse. Oh I would act up every now and then, but he loved me through it all. I am glad I found Eddie and Mom. They are fun to be around, take great care of me, and I love pulling my Dad’s hat off when he’s not looking. I am very lucky and I love my family and brothers and sisters!

This is me and my human Eddie. He's kind of a nut job but I love him anyway.
